The Right Document Imaging Style

The digitization of their documents has become a common practice in companies and organizations of all types, the objective being to promote dematerialized exchanges and facilitate their management (sorting, archiving, restitution). To learn more about this technique, the DOCaufutur blog contains many articles on tools and methods for professional electronic document management.

Optimize document management

In the professional sector, document management is one of the most tedious and time-consuming tasks to be carried out by manual methods. It can involve several people, especially if the number and type of documents to be taken care of is high. It also requires specific organizational skills as well as a well-thought-out strategy. For Document imaging this is important.

The arrival of document digitization techniques on the one hand and the large number of document management software now available on the market on the other hand, however, have made it possible to facilitate the handling of the various documents of companies, organizations and communities. Software tools make it possible to reduce production, processing and archiving time by automating these operations, while limiting the risk of error.

Why choose document scanning?

The document scanning is now the most recommended solution for enterprises who are juggling many documents (contracts, invoices, purchase orders, bank statements, publications, etc.). This method indeed offers undeniable advantages for the management of documents, from their acquisition to their archiving, including their processing. The automation of all or part of the tasks of production, monitoring, processing, storage and distribution of documents allows companies to save time and save on staff and the purchase of paper in large quantities. .

The use of digital files rather than paper documents offers a significant gain in productivity for companies. Thanks to the Internet, employees gain mobility by having access to information that is useful to them at any time, regardless of the terminal used (computer, tablet, smartphone). The document scanning simplifies the exchange of files, and staff can work together regardless of physical distance.

Aperture Cards Usages for You Now

Documents larger than A4 (such as A3, B4, and double letter) can be scanned with the ScanSnap using the optional transparency. Insert a document folded in half into the transparency and scan it to automatically merge the images on both sides of the document. In case of the Aperture cards this is very true.

·        Note that you can load multiple transparencies to scan them simultaneously with the ScanSnap.

·        Open the ADF paper chute (cover) of the ScanSnap to turn it on.

·        Opening the ADF paper chute (cover)

·        Extend the ADF paper chute extension and delivery tray (cover).

·        Extension deployment

·        Configure the settings for a profile.

·        Click the [Scan] button in the upper left corner of the ScanSnap Home Main Window to display the Scan Window.

Windows

·        If the main window is not already displayed, see Displaying the Main Window.

·        When you create a profile click on Add profiles.

·        From the list of templates in the [Add New Profile] Window that appears when you click Add profiles, select a template profile and change the settings.

·        From the list of profiles, select a profile whose settings you want to change.

If you specify [Auto Select] in the [Paper Size] section, an optimum size is automatically selected from the standard sizes available in [Paper Size]. Note that depending on the document, the image size may be reduced from that of the original document.

When [Automatically detects the document type "Documents", "Business Cards", "Receipts" or "Photos" and scans the document with the appropriate scan settings] is selected for [Document type detection] in the settings for a profile, document type detection may fail if the size of an image to be saved is smaller than the document size.

If the scanned document type is different from that of the content data record displayed in the main window of ScanSnap Home, change the document type of the content data record.

Document Imaging With All the Supports for You Now

If you want to print a photo book or if your book contains illustrations, drawings, which you have to scan (scan), reading this article should save you time and sweat! These lines are intended to teach you a little more than the common sense advice given in the article "Insert images into a Word file ". You will learn why it is important to choose a good scanning resolution. You will also see how to determine the latter according to the work to be scanned. Even more, you will discover the technical reasons which impose these choices. For the Document imaging this is important.

To print well, you must first scan well

Rather than choosing a "wet finger" scanning resolution, it is better to know the working resolution of your provider's press. The HP Indigo® presses used at DFS + use a line size of 175 lines. This means that over a distance of one inch (2.54 cm), the press will print 175 lines of dots of different sizes.
Unless you are a man of art, the concept of lineage must be foreign to you. However, you should be familiar with the concept of resolution described in dots per inch (dpi). There is a relationship between the line size and the point resolutions. Various coefficients can be applied to switch from one to the other depending on the quality of the document to be produced and the levels of linearity. However, for simplicity, we consider that a coefficient of 1.5 is suitable for a press that prints in 175 lines. So the "ideal" resolution to get the best result on our presses is: 175 x 1.5 = 262.5 dots per inch.
To simplify, scanning your images to their final format at a resolution of 300 dpi is perfect for our presses. This is perfect for the Document imaging services now.

Why don't you “oversample” your scans?

You may be tempted to use working resolutions larger than 300 dpi when finalizing your image. After all, 21st century hard drives aren't short on "gigas" to easily store your documents. The result may however be opposite to the desired effect.

The best of Document imaging for You Now

Some 3d scanners require a patterned background to determine the position of the scanner relative to the object. This is easy to achieve. It is necessary to try to avoid "uniform" backgrounds or use other objects in the scene. But you need to avoid moving objects in the scene, because this can confuse the scanner. For the Document imaging this is important.

Foreign material: Make sure that there are no foreign objects on the object being scanned. They will not interfere with the scan, but the process of processing the scan can be difficult, because they will need to be deleted.

Support: On some objects there may be undercuts that cannot be scanned without lifting the object. If you raise the product, then the scanning process will fail and everything will have to start all over again. Initially, look at the support on which you place the product and from where you can "get" to all the elements of the object.

Color and lighting: Some 3d scanners capture the color and texture of an object. But the correct color can only be obtained if you use the illumination of the object correctly. Natural light is best suited. But 3d scanning is also done indoors. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account that the object is lit evenly from all sides. If the lighting is uneven, the non-illuminated side will be dim compared to the illuminated one.

Cleaning: After the scan is complete, you will need to convert the scan to a 3d model. Some companies supply their processing software with a 3d scanner. In this case, the program will do everything for you. But it may be that you have to do this with your own software that you have. Then you will need to fill in the holes, smooth the surfaces, simplify the complex mesh of the object.
We hope these tips help you.

Perfect Aperture cards for Your Choices in Every Case

When buying a 3d scanner for the first time, the buyer wants to receive the most accurate copies of the scanned products. Someone starts to get it right away, while someone spends a lot of time getting the desired result. From personal experience I will say that every time I scan a new product, I come across pitfalls and problems.

Naturally, when a problem arises, we immediately go to the Internet to find answers to our questions. And in most cases we find them, but, unfortunately, there is very little that can be found on the network on the topic of 3d scanning. Therefore, the idea was born to write advice on what and how to do to get the desired result. The article will be interesting for both a novice and an experienced owner of a 3d scanner. For the Aperture cards this is important.

In this article, we will cover 10 tips for scanning with hand-held 3d scanners. These tips will be relevant for cheap, home-made 3d scanners based on Microsoft Kinect and for hand-held 3d scanners costing up to $ 50,000.

Tips for scanning with a handheld 3d scanner

Setup time: Getting a good scan takes considerable time. It includes not only the time of direct scanning. Be prepared to spend a lot of time setting up the environment of the scanned product and setting up the equipment.

Cable length: Hand scanners are equipped with cables for connecting to a computer or laptop. Before starting a scan, it is advisable to consider the length of the cable so that you can scan the product from all angles.

Feedback: Unlike stationary 3d scanners, manual ones require constant feedback. Therefore, before starting a scan, make sure that the monitor is in your direct line of sight.

Resolution: Some hand-held 3d scanners, especially expensive ones, suggest scanning options before scanning. And the natural desire will be to set high resolution. But in this case, the movements of the scanner should be very slow. This can be difficult, because the scanner has significant weight. For starters, it’s better to determine what resolution is required you may not need the highest.

Corners and undercuts: Before starting a scan, analyze the product for corners and undercuts that may be difficult to scan. Think in advance about the path of the scanner to capture them and scan well.

Great Choices for Document Imaging

Today, scanning is a must in any office. This process also allows you to save money and at the moment replaces fax and sending documents by mail, since you can scan a document and send it in less than 3 minutes, if you know how to do it. You can purchase a simple scanner or printer with an integrated scanner, so how multifunction printers typically include such features.

First, you can scan documents, and then edit using a scanner, whether it be an image or a text document. Scanners used to be separate hardware, but recently, printer manufacturers have begun integrating the scanner into almost all printers to add document copying, allowing you to scan without much effort. With the right Document imaging service you can expect now a lot.

But how to care for the scanner to get the same image quality as with a new scanner

In the sequel, we will try to explain how to properly care for and maintain the scanner in good condition, whether it is a simple scanner or a multifunction printer. We recommend that you perform this procedure every month, but it takes a lot of time and effort, although this is a routine procedure for caring for the equipment.

Wipe the scanner glass:

The scanner is a visualization device that digitizes physical documents, so the glass must be clean. If it happens that a spot remains on the scanner glass, whether it is dirt, dust or insects, it will all be printed on the scanned image. To clean the glass, use a damp cloth with a little water. Avoid getting water inside the scanner.

The location of the document on the scanner glass is of utmost importance. You should be guided by the marks that are located on the case around the printer, or simply lay the document face down close to the right front corner of the scanner.

The cover that closes the scanner can be easily lifted.

If you need to scan a heavy or bulky document or book, it is recommended to open this cover if there is no sensor on it. Read the instruction manual, it will indicate the maximum weight that can be put on the scanner. The scanner gives us the opportunity to edit any image: for example, if you have a very small document and need to print more, you can scan it and enlarge it on a computer for subsequent printing.

If you want to edit image properties, such as size, color, format, it is recommended to scan from the printer software. This can be found in the article How to scan documents. These and other information can be found on our blog. If you want to know more about scanners and the scanning process, open the “scan” tag to read all scanning articles.

How the aperture card Benefit You Perfectly

Some aperture cards truly go with little scores cut out of them which were put there from the outset for a kind of pre-current PC based pursuit framework so when you expected to find a particular reference number the cut out indents would allow you to find them on account of the position and size of the cut out extents. It's kind of over the top to think about now anyway in those days it was the tallness of progression.

The Scores Cuts

When in doubt when originally observed, people don't every now and again understand that an aperture card is just that. They regularly contain one negative picture inside a significant cardboard outside shell and will consistently be found in record coordinators as often as possible made especially for them.

The Use of the Aperture Card

Aperture card separating is the primary veritable methodology. By and large just performed by master separating organizations, aperture card checking might be something of a specialty zone anyway it's still amazingly noticeable as there are a significant proportion of organizations that end up with heaps of aperture cards yet no genuine method to see or use them much like their close by relations microfilm and microfiche. The devices on which they could once be seen are more uncommon than whenever in ongoing memory by virtue of the happening to taking care of pictures and various files on hard drives, so with respect to truly finding one they end up being completely expensive in view of the way that their now something of a specialty thing which is conveyed in to an extraordinary degree little sums.

As worthwhile as they may have been at the time, being used consequent to the mid-50s up until today, there have been different better game plans since completing with advanced document storage now. PC's all around now store as much as 2TB on their listened drive and that is a lot of pictures, likewise what external hard drives can offer, so it looks good the photos be moved onto a contraption that essentially expends even less space and allows you to get to the cards at whatever point you wish and change them as you like.

Last Words

Organizations that convert these sorts of cards to computerized designs, for instance, PDFs tend to be similar organizations that convert most documents to advanced arrangements. On the off chance that you experience trouble finding an organization that will do this for you, rotate toward the sky document checking organizations as they will frequently offer the administration or have the ability to point you in the correct bearing. Aperture card scanners are significantly expensive contraptions consequently why simply ace organizations will in general use them and offer the administration anyway the system is ordinarily commonly expedient and turnaround is generally inside two or three days depending upon the measure of the aperture cards that you have and furthermore how clamoring the organization starting at now is.
